Edition no. 3 of 10

A set of 6 images from Lee Miller’s most prolific Surrealist period curated by Carole Callow, estate fine printer and curator for the Lee Miller Archives. Created to celebrate Lee Miller’s birth centenary in 2007 and the ‘Art of Lee Miller’ exhibition at the V&A. The box set contains 6 fine archival gelatin silver prints hand printed from the original negatives by Carole Callow and is accompanied by a hand printed essay about the selection.

The box contains a handprinted curator’s essay and the following images:

  • Portrait of Space, Nr. Siwa, Egypt 1937
  • Gezira sporting club, Cairo, Egypt c1936
  • Still life ceramics, Egypt c1938
  • Sand dunes, Egypt c1937
  • Architecture in abstract, Luxor, Egypt c1938
  • Oasis village, Egypt c1939

The edition was not fully printed and only has 3 complete sets, 2 of which are sold.

Number 3 of 10 is the only complete set remaining. POA

Each print has the Lee Miller Archives centenary authentication stamp verso, signed by Antony Penrose. The box set comes with an Authentication certificate.
