From the physical durability of dancers, models and performers to that of soldiers, surgeons and civilians persevering on conflict, Annabel Moeller has documented human endurance and resilience for over three decades.
Following the wisdom ‘If you want to be a photographer, first leave home’, Annabel jumped at the opportunity to travel to Australia; ‘It was the beginning of many future adventures, camera in hand as my passport, my reason and my excuse.’ Her career took off in Sydney with live photography of the first Australian Fashion Week and performances at the capital’s iconic Opera House.
Ever since, Annabel has immersed herself in the life of her subjects. Renowned for her appetite for challenging assignments, Annabel’s scope of work extends beyond borders. Her lens has traversed international landscapes, joining forces with the British Army on missions to locales such as Iraq, Somalia, Mogadishu, Afghanistan, Libya, and even Outer Mongolia.
Since 2016, she has been working with the David Nott Foundation, a humanitarian organisation dedicated to training doctors and surgeons working in warzones. Annabel has travelled with David and the foundation to Iraq, Libya, Turkey, Cameroon and most recently, Ukraine.
March 2023 saw the release of Annabel’s debut book, titled ‘Annabel Moeller: Friends to Frontiers’, published by Lee Miller Archives Publishing.
