This hat is part of an exclusive collection designed for Farleys by Victoria Brown. Victoria worked with Lee Miller's photographs held here in the Lee Miller Archives and was inspired by the hats and clothes Lee photographed for Vogue during the war - the twists and playfulness coupled with their formality. Lee's use of solarisation in her photography is also incorporated in the hat's design with the use of black or white edging and accents.
Victoria Brown is a British Milliner whose work has been exhibited internationally. She has work in private collections and the V&A. She has designed hats for Jean Muir Ltd, and handmade felt for Georgina Godley and Paul Smith's runway.
This hat is handmade by Victoria Brown with fine straw using traditional skills and wood blocks. Each hat has a specially designed Farleys label in the crown.
