Description Stripping, cleaning and re-assembling arms such as these aircraft guns was an essential role carried out by the ordinance Wrens (Women’s Royal Naval Service or WRNS). It required a good knowledge of the mechanics and assembly of many different types of weapon to support the war effort. This image was published in Wrens in Camera 1945, the first and only book published solely illustrated by Lee Miller's photography during her lifetime.
