Description Leonora Carrington, the daughter of a Lancashire textiles magnate, met the pre-eminent Surrealist artist Max Ernst in London in 1937 and later eloped to Paris with him. They moved to St Martin d’Ardèche where their home became a focal point for Surrealist artists until they were parted by the war. Carrington, a Surrealist writer, poet and painter of great significance eventually went to Mexico. Published in Scrap Book by Roland Penrose, 1981, page 123, La Poligrafa, Barcelona.
